We are still having to chip ice outta the bottom of this piece of junk every Saturday. The front door panels was what my husband loved about this fridge and he can’t even use it. We even went so far as to disconnect the water source from the back, as we thought the problem was there. We bought this house back in 2017 and because we didn’t move in right away, it’s a wonder we didn’t lose our hardwood flooring. Who buys any refrigerator knowing you have to basically defrost every 2 or 3 weeks. Wth? And just where do I put all of my freezer and fridge stuff? It says to keep in refrigerator or keep frozen. Service guy comes out for $95 and tell me, lady, you need to empty it out and leave it unplugged for 3 or 4 days. I have tried contacting whirlpoop but was told it needed service.
Please add me my whirlpool gold fridge with freezer on the bottom fills up with water and freezes I don’t even have my ice maker plugged in thinking that’s the problem but it’s not every other day I’m down on my floor chipping the darn ice away it’s a pain in the a$$ and if I don’t the door doesn’t shut its already hard to move the draws in and out cause they freez and are getting rusty it’s a shame I love my fridge but have that it’s doing what it’s doing I already replaced the mother board cost me 100.00 because the fridge was getting hot and how I have to keep it on 1 or 2 setting any higher every thing freezes in my fridge the freezer is on 4 or 5 nothing higher or my fresh food in fridge freezes crazy never ever have I had this happen before with a fridge and I love whirlpool gold, I would also like to see if I can get the replacement part for my fridge to see if that will fix the problem or if I have to buy another fridge cause it’s a pain every 2 to 3 days chipping out a ton of frozen what from the bottom of the freezer thank you They should be responsible for their products. I’ve thought about just dropping it off at whirlpool and give it back. Spent approximately 400 on two different servicemen and still not working. Said you pay this much for a new fridge and doesn’t work right. Came into kitchen next morning and refrigerator leaking all over floor and new accumulation of frozen ice in refrigerator under large drawer. Came back next week defrosted area again placed new part said it should be okay. He defrosted area that was frozen and turned ice maker off. Called second serviceman he state needed a new valve and would have to order part will take a week to get it. First one defrosted area that was frozen and said it should be fixed. It leaks continuously, freezes up with ice below the large drawer in refrigerator. My refrigerator is a whirlpool French doors model # wrf555sdfz03 and is not listed.
Under settlement terms, the company will pay $21 million and will continue its replacement parts program through the end of 2021. Whirlpool agreed to settle the class action against them in July. She claimed that some of their refrigerator models have a defect that leads to a buildup of ice that eventually causes water leakage from the bottom of the appliances. Plaintiff Julie Corzine filed her refrigerator class action lawsuit against Whirlpool and Maytag in November 2015. The refrigerators covered in this settlement were sold under the Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn-Air and KitchenAid brands.
